Details
An Indian supplier gave the impetus to develop this type of tea when he sent the then tea taster Friedrich Rapp a box of fresh, tasty mangoes. The popular fruit was still relatively exotic in Germany at that time.
Tested by Friedrich Rapp in multi-stage tasting rounds, the end product made a significant contribution to green tea consumption in Germany. The original recipe is still a well-kept secret today and is only passed on to tea tasters.
Morgentau® has been copied many times, but it remains unique to this day.
Even people who don't generally like green tea, love this flavored green tea. Mango is the predominant flavor and it has a cult following around the world. It is blended by the famous Tee Haus Ronnefeldt and if you have traveled in better hotels and cruise ships around the world, you will have come across it called Morgentau which means Morning Dew in German. I like to think of it as summertime in a cup!
