Oolong tea
Partially fermented tea that first tastes slightly bitter and then develops its characteristic nutty sweetness.
LooseFormosa Oolong is the style of brown oolong that generations of Americans have loved, especially for its toasty flavor. Don't worry about the stems; the tea is traditionally made this way in Taiwan.
ABOUT FORMOSA OOLONG
Considered by many tea drinkers to be among the most complete tea drinking experiences, Oolong presents the perfect balance between green and black teas. Working directly with the growers Tea Forté has procured this lightly-oxidized, warm and woody variety with exceptionally fragrant and floral flavor, presenting richness and intensity. After plucking, the loose leaves were grouped into bamboo baskets carefully fermented and then wilted in the sun. Frequent turning of the tea in the baskets during the drying process allowed for the Oolong to develop a floral aroma with large, wild curly leaves.Formosa is another name for the island of Taiwan. Ihla Formosa means "beautiful island" in Portuguese.
It is not typical to add dairy or sweetener to oolong teas. Oolong teas are enjoyed throughout the day. The nutty flavor of our Formosa Oolong pairs well with berries and soft cheeses.
